Sorry for the lack of updates over the past few weeks. I've been working at a new job and just haven't had the time or energy to update the blog. Things will change over the next couple of weeks and the blog should be up and running again.

*Jake Tenhouse (Hornell '08 mgr.) hired as an asst. coach at St. Joseph's (Ind.) and as the head coach of the Wilmington Sharks, Coastal Plain League
*Ryan Fecteau (Watertown '02-'04, '05 asst.) hired as a volunteer asst. at USC-Upstate
*Fritz Hamburg (Newark '98-00 mgr.) hired as head coach at St. Joseph's (Pa.)
*Joe Sinicola (Glens Falls '08 asst.) hired as asst. coach at Siena
*Justin Gordon (Little Falls '07-'08 mgr.) hired as pitching coach at Temple
**NYCBL Coaching Transactions
*Amsterdam has hired Kevin Griffin as its 2009 field manager
*Glens Falls has announced the return of field manager John Mayotte for 2009; it will be his sixth season as the Golden Eagles skipper
**Awards
*Brad Lidge (Ithaca '96) has been named Major League Baseball's National League Comeback Player of the Year. Lidge and the Philadelphia Phillies are one win away from the World Series title.
*Several league alums have been named to all-league teams from summer leagues and professional baseball
**Pro Prospects
*Cord Phelps (Amsterdam '06) was named to Baseball America's list of Top 20 prospects in the New York-Penn League. Phelps is a member of the Cleveland Indians organization. He played for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers this past summer.
*A boatload of recent draft picks have been named to Major League Baseball fall instructional league rosters
**Winter Baseball
*Casper Wells (Saratoga '04) is playing in the Arizona Fall League for the Mesa Solar Sox. Former NYCBL players in the AFL over the last few years include Houston's Hunter Pence (Schenectady '02), St. Louis reliever Jason Motte (Rome '01) and Toronto AAA prospect Chip Cannon (Cortland '01)
*Cliff Flagello (Plattsburgh) is playing in Hawaii Winter Baseball for the West Oahu Cane Fires.
**League News
*New officers have been elected for the 2009 season including a new president and vice president
*A new owner for Little Falls
